For the optimum small group experience, it is best to be a member of only one group at a time. As each group matures, the personality of a group yields a high return. The shared experiences for bonds of safety and comfort increase with each meeting. The current structure for COLLECTIVE Group provides 2 worship attendance credits for Residence Hall students.

Absolutely not. The topics for each of the COLLECTIVE Group is different in one way or another. The topics range from reading together through a variety of books of the Bible or spiritual readings to exercises.

A COLLECTIVE Group at Oakwood is a group of no more than 15 students who get together on a weekly basis to connect with one another and with God. The usual format lasts little more than an hour. A group will spend about 10-15 minutes in a welcome activity, 20-25 minutes in Bible Study and 20-25 minutes of application exercises and prayer. This outline differs based on the individual group goals and the Leadership involved in each unit.

Each group determines the best time to meet for their own mix of member class and work schedules. Groups meet during weeknights and a few meet on Sabbath or Sunday.
